Silk

Silk holds light differently from any other fabric. The fibre is triangular in cross-section, so it refracts rather than absorbs — which is why a silk shirt appears to shift shade as you move instead of sitting flat the way cotton or lawn does. It also drapes with weight, falling properly rather than clinging.

This collection brings together every silk we carry, across weights and finishes. Raw silk has a natural slub texture and enough body to hold its shape across a full evening. Softer silks fall closer to the body and suit a more flowing cut. Between them sit the embellished pieces — mirror work, zari and hand embroidery, all of which read better on silk than on flatter fabrics.
